We’re all lucky and fortunate enough to have Titus allow us to book our own shows at vinyl junkie for a very reasonable rate with no bullshit, so its time to give back. The only thing that lacks at Vinyl Junkie is a PA system that reaches loud enough levels, so lets fix that problem. All proceeds will go to purchasing Vinyl Junkie a new PA system, mics, cables and soundproofing(whatever funds are available to work with). With the new noise ordinance in Houston where cops can enter an establishment to issue tickets without the evidence of a decibel meter. Venues are hesitant to allow all age shows due to underage kids being in a bar and the scare of cops entering the establishment. If you have been music for long, you know the importance of underage kids being allowed into shows, I know that was the case for me 7 years ago, same for the majority of people who attend shows. We have a chance here to help Vinyl Junkie grow as a D.I.Y. venue, which also has one of the best Vinyl Selections in town. The PA will reflect on everyone in Houston that is involved in the d.i.y. hardcore, punk, metal, pop punk scenes. Every time you attend a show at VJ and see the PA, think to yourself that I was a part of something bigger than myself. You have the opportunity to give back, I know I owe the Houston music community more than I could ever repay.
